for Oscar Wilde
One of most rememberable projects at the University of Connecticut's Designer Center was designing promotional material for the performance of a play by Oscar Wilde. We were given the task of designing bookmarks from a selection of quotes but with a drawback: a one-week turnaround.
The bookmark I designed was a result of careful decisions that visualize Oscar Wilde. I chose a typeface which was floral but gothic in nature, in order to reflect his flamboyant personality within the time period he lived in. I paired the quote with his initials which looked like a flower and stem. The green color was selected because Oscar Wilde is also remembered for his green carnation.
